Abstract

The accelerated and disorderly growth of many cities, associated with a lack of planning, brings with it the absence of arboreal individuals in the streets and public places, which has several impacts. The objective of this research was to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the benefits of green areas and their influence on the quality of life of the population in urban centers. The methodology used was the Systematic Literature Review (RSL), with qualitative and quantitative scope. The survey of documentary information took place from national journals, stored in databases with open access: Google Scholar, Google Scholar, Magazines and Annals of Congress on vegetation and urbanization. The data obtained were treated using electronic spreadsheets contained in the Microsoft Office Excel 2013 software. The analysis of the data obtained indicated that the insertion of green areas has advantages and disadvantages. Regarding the reported advantages, they are

associated with the management and improvement of the quality of life, health and well-being of urban and rural communities, as for the disadvantages, these are related to poor planning and management, as well as the choice of planted species in these locations, because it was found that there is a rupture in the cementitious coverage of sidewalks and sidewalks and that they are indirectly responsible for accidents in the community that transits these areas. Therefore, only the correct planning of these areas, directly or indirectly, will meet the needs of the urban population for open spaces that enable leisure, recreation, as well as nature conservation with improvements in the quality of life.
