COLETA SELETIVA SEGURA DURANTE A COVID-19: A VISÃO DA COMUNIDADE ACADÊMICA DA UNIVERSIDADE DE BRASÍLIA, DF

This article to present research carried out with the academic community of the University of Brasília-UnB on the consumption, disposal and collection of solid waste during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a data collection method, the Google Forms platform was used, with a questionnaire consisting of 14 questions from June to October 2020, answered by 2,325 people, including undergraduate and graduate students, professors and administrative staff. The main results were: 72% of respondents have the habit of separating dry and organic waste, 80% didn’t have access to information about the correct disposal procedure in the pandemic, 90,5% were willing to deliver recyclable materials in some Location of Voluntary Delivery. About new habits to adopt, they mentioned: reducing the use of plastic bags, avoiding food waste, using domestic compost, sanitizing recyclable material to be disposed of for selective collection with alcohol, soap and removing excess waste. It is concluded that the population surveyed demonstrates a collaborative attitude with the selective collection system, taking care of the material to be discarded and is willing to change habits in relation to a safe selective collection in times of pandemic.
