LICENCIAMENTO AMBIENTAL NA PARAÍBA: VIABILIDADE LEGAL DE UM ATERRO SANITÁRIO NO MUNICÍPIO DE PRINCESA ISABEL-PB

Abstract

The environmental licensing process is necessary for all activities that have polluting potential, for this procedure the government verifies that a given enterprise meets legal requirements, defined by laws and technical standards. According to the literature, the main problem is linked to the delay in the analysis of studies and consequently the issuance of environmental licenses by the licensing agency. Therefore, the objective of this work was to analyze the procedure required for environmental licensing in the state of Paraíba reflecting on the feasibility of licensing a landfill to be built in the city of Princesa Isabel-PB. To achieve the research objectives, the methodological procedures were developed in three stages: Literature review; Survey of secondary data; Plan for qualitative and quantitative analysis and data analysis. With this study it was possible to map the licensing process in Brazil and in Paraíba besides raising the technical material and the legal documents needed to apply for the Preliminary License, Installation License and Regularization License and operation of landfills.
