The Municipal Plans for Integrated Management of Solid Waste (PMGIRS) are one of the main instruments of the National Policy for Solid Waste, and consist of a diagnosis on the current situation of the set of waste generated, define guidelines, strategies and targets to be developed in waste management actions. These conditions are for the Federal District and the municipalities to have access to financial resources from the Union. The aim of this work was to analyses the Tucuruí/PA PMGIRS based on the minimum content required by the PNRS. The methodology included an analysis of the Plan to the minimum content established by the PNRS, and involved the use of a checklist with 19 items. Nine items were satisfactorily covered (I, V, X, XI, XIV, XV, XVI, XVIII and IX), representing about 47% of the items covered. The items II, IV and VII, were partially met, and should be reviewed and improved. The other incisors were not attended to, while the incisors VI, XII, XIII and XVII, are absent in the text of the plan. Thus, it is up to the Public Power, together with the participation of the population, to evaluate what measures will be necessary for the municipality to meet the requirements established in the PNRS, considering the financial and human resource/material limitations.
