DEVELOPMENT AND APPLICATION OF WORKSHOP FOR SOCIAL PROJECT: OBTAINING NATURAL PIGMENTS AND APPLICATION IN FABRICS

This project addresses the process of developing pigments, made by a group of students in the discipline of PIDRIS - Curricular practices of innovation and regional development and social interaction, from the Textile Engineering. The work was carried out in partnership with a complementary education association. This work aimed to social interaction with children seeking to arouse their interest to learn more about the course, to demonstrate the process of developing pigments with homemade materials and to develop critical thinking in relation to the consumption of textile materials. This interaction was made in the form of a workshop, for this purpose bibliographic research and field research were carried out for the development of pigments, resulting in the creation of the purple color using canned beets and the black color made from coal, thus, later used for the application of stamps on cotton fabrics in the association.
